Linda Stephenson is happy to be returning for her fourth summer as Director of Camp Funtime. With her degree in Child Development, she has been teaching Preschool since 1975. She has an excellent reputation in the community, and has held various directorships and teaching positions at local schools and day camps. Linda has directed many different types of day camp programs since 1978.
Each staff member is hired for their ability to relate to children. Their creativity, commitment and knowledge are what make your child’s summer a successful experience.

Most of our staff are returning counselors. We do extensive recruiting and interviewing of new staff that are hired. Word of mouth is also a key to successful hiring of quality and caring staff.
Yes, we use the National Sex Offender Registry and we thoroughly check references, both work related and personal.

All of our staff goes through a complete and informative orientation program which meets all of the American Camping Association’s requirements before camp starts each summer.
Our Senior Counselors are college students, 18 years and older. Co-Counselors are entering 12th grade in the fall and our Junior Counselors are 9-11th graders.
Yes, we have weekly staff meetings for all staff members that involve a weekly agenda and different aspects of training.
Yes, the Senior Counselors and Co-Counselors remain with the same group throughout the entire summer. However at times, changes may need to be made. Junior Counselors rotate groups each week.
The counselors are the same gender as their campers from 1st grade to 5th grade. But not necessarily in our co-ed Cub Camp or Kindergarten groups.
Our lifeguards are required to have American Red Cross certificates in CPR and First Aid, as well as their WSI certificate. All other Specialists are trained or certified in the area of expertise.
