Cub Camp (Ages 3-4)

Our Cub Camp Program is designed for children who are 3 and 4 years old. While learning what camp is all about, our Cub Campers will make new friends, experience growth in social, emotional, and physical skills and have fun while participating in developmentally appropriate camp activities. We maintain small group size to ensure safety and individual attention with each group consisting of 12 -14 children with 2 counselors and 1-2 Jr. Counselors. We have a shallow pool for first-time swimmers and special programs like the renowned Rhythm Rhyme Music Time, Make Believe Play, the Block Center and many more every week. Cub Camp groups each have their own classroom where they eat snack, change for swimming and keep their belongings. This is also where 3 year-olds have their Quiet Time. All Cub Campers must be toilet-trained to attend camp.

Ratios

3 year-old campers are in co-ed groups with up to 12 campers, and 4-year old* campers are in co-ed groups with up to 14 campers. Each group consists of 2 Senior Counselors (college aged students at least 18 years of age or older), or 1 Senior Counselor and 1 Co-Counselor (entering into his/her senior year of high school, these staff members have had to complete a minimum of 3 years in our Junior counselor program). Each group will also have 1-2 Junior counselors, these are high school students volunteering in our counselor in training program. Most activities are led by Specialists, who are adults who specialize in a particular field.

*If your child missed the cut-off for Kindergarten and is entering into a transitional-kindergarten (Gesher) program, we still recommend that he/she be placed into a Kindergarten group.

Sample Schedules

Note: These are just examples of daily schedules. All activities rotate, and girls and boys get equal time in all activities. Many days also include special events that correspond with the themed weeks on our Special Events Calendar.
